Wendy's 725 W. Hammer Lane - In the former Soda Corners - Wendy's was founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. As of December 31, 2018, there were a total of 6,711 locations, including 353 that are company-owned and 6,358 that are franchised; 92% of the system-wide locations are in North America. While Wendy's determines standards for each store's exterior appearance, food quality and menu, the store owners have control over hours of operations, interior decor, pricing, staff uniforms, and wages.
Thomas named the restaurant after his fourth child Melinda Lou "Wendy" Thomas.
In September 2019, Wendy’s announced it would launch a nationwide breakfast menu in March 2020, featuring menu items that include a breakfast version of its Baconator, a Frosty-inspired coffee drink, and a honey butter chicken biscuit
Del Taco - 817 West Hammer Lane - Originally named Casa Del Taco ("House of the Taco"), the first Del Taco restaurant was founded in 1964 in Yermo, California by Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson.
On the first official day of business, Del Taco made $169. Success of the first restaurant led to two in Barstow, one in Needles, and a fifth restaurant in Corona (the first Del Taco with a drive-thru window). Dick Naugle, who installed the kitchen equipment in the Corona store, was impressed by the design and joined Hackbarth and Jameson in the fledgling business.
In 1966, the trio founded Red-E-Food Systems, Inc. with the idea of franchising the Casa Del Taco brand.

Stockton’s Orchard Supply Hardware store is not on a newly released list of Orchard stores that will close. All told, Orchard is closing 17 stores in California, including outlets in Fairfield and Vacaville. As part of its ongoing Chapter 11 process, last month, Orchard Supply identified nine stores that will begin closing sales in June. They are in Burbank, Canoga Park, El Cerrito, Lodi, Merced, Santa Ana, Santa Clarita, Torrance and Yuba City. Stores in Vacaville, Fairfield, Citrus Heights, Huntington Beach, Lone Tree, Long Beach, Midtown Los Angeles and Newark began store closing sales on June 29. Lowe’s Companies Inc. will acquire the majority of Orchard’s assets for $205 million in cash, according to a news release. “Lowe’s plans to have Orchard operate as a separate, standalone business, retaining its brand under the leadership of Orchard’s current management team,” the release said. The company said it expects to continue operating Orchard’s remaining 72 stores at the completion of the sale process.
All Orchard Supply Hardware stores in California and elsewhere were closed as of February, 2019, the company’s parent — home-improvement retail giant Lowe’s — announced Wednesday. The chain, also known as OSH, had 99 locations in California, Oregon and Florida, as well as distribution centers, all of which closed. The move comes five years after Lowe’s bought most OSH stores out of bankruptcy following an ill-fated spinoff from the chain’s former owner, Sears Holdings Corp.

Nation's Giant Hamburgers - 3333 W. Hammer Lane, or simply called Nation's, is a privately held El Cerrito, California-based fast food diner chain. The chain, founded in 1952, but popularized in Orinda, largely operates in the San Francisco Bay Area. The majority (87.5%) of locations are focused in the suburban Greater East Bay; consisting of Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties
There are single store locations in three other Bay Area counties: Daly City in San Mateo County, which is the only Nation's in the San Francisco Peninsula, Napa in the county by the same name, and two restaurants in the Central Valley cities of Stockton and Tracy in San Joaquin County. Expansion brought the chain out of the Bay Area and into the Sacramento Valley. In May 2012, a restaurant located on Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights was opened, followed by another in Folsom, which opened in May 2013 Former County Bank / Former Burger King Location - Right photo courtesy of Floyd Perry Jr.
