1801 E. Mariposa Rd - Vacant Lot - Pock Lane - Former Bayer's Machine Shop, started by the father of Pete and Jake Bayer, charter members of the Stockton MC, 1924.. WE say it that way because there was an earlier Stockton MC that died out... the Bayer Family lived across Pock Lane, home was demolished also, and the MC club members would meet in the Cellar, not really a basement... years later the Bayer Family would offer the southeast corner of their property for an actual club house... that was later moved to club owned property on the 99 frontage road, south of Campora's Gas Service.

U.S. Highway 50 was created in 1926. It ran through Tracy, up Mckinley to Charter Way and East and then north on Wilson Way. Charter Way was a booming area from the 30's until the 80's when I-5 through Stockton was completed. Subsequently A cross town freeway was constructed to direct traffic from I-5 to Highway 99. Later Charter Way was renamed Martin Luther King Drive. Lots of history on Charter Way, although the area is much quieter now. This page uses a combination of then and now photos.
