Stockton Wilson Way Now and Then
Wilson Way / Highway 99 Originally East Street
Hobby page only, our Real Estate Practice is single family residential real estate.
U.S. Highway 50 was created in 1926. It ran through Tracy, up Mckinley (now El Dorado) to Charter Way then East and then North on Wilson Way.
Highway 99 turned west on Mariposa Road to Charter Way, then North on Wilson Way, to Waterloo Road and then Left on Cherokee Lane making the
combined Highway 50/Highway 99/Wilson Way one of the busiest streets in Stockton. The Highway 99 freeway on the east side of Stockton changed
Wilson Way forever. The retail and motels were hard hit. When the city redeveloped the West End along Center and El Dorado it drove the
prostitutes further east to Wilson Way. This page is a blend of both past and present.

102 N. Wilson Way - Growers Hall - The younger generation often went down to Chets' a popular bar on the street level of Growers
Hall. Times have changed. The condition of old Growers Hall has deteriorated. Chet's is now closed--a burned out shell of its former reputation
where deals were made, crops were bought and sold, and good food was served. In the heyday of the Growers Market, Chefs began serving breakfast
at 4:00 A.M. During each cherry season, many times all day long, the noise was near bedlam as brokers and shippers argued and made their deals
each shouting louder than his competition. Truckers and railroad agents were also at Chets, because "that's where the action was."

113 N. Wilson Way - Lido Hotel.
The Lido Hotel was built in 1920. Hotels and other structures in this era were
built with great detail. From the exterior you can see the intricate design
typical of this time period. Inside you will not be disappointed with the lovely
woodwork.

Grocery Outlet
Grocery Outlet / Former S-Mart / Former Albertsons
First known as Canned Foods Grocery Outlet until 1987, is a privately owned supermarket chain. Founded in 1946 in San Francisco, California currently operates within
the Western states of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona. The company was in the Texas market for a few years after buying the Yes!Less chain
from (now defunct) Fleming, however all Texas stores have now been closed. It is a value-oriented grocery retailer — what the company dubs extreme-value. The company
primarily operates stores under the Grocery Outlet name and was in a dispute with Albertsons over the use of the Lucky brand. Supervalu now operates 3 stores under the
Lucky brand.
