Food Network Magazine, which debuted in May following two newsstand-only test issues in October 2008 and January 2009. A year after its stealth arrival, the magazine already ranks as the second-largest foodie book. Come January, it will move to a 10-issues-per-year schedule and jump its rate base to one million. Heck, it's even selling ads: According to Publisher Vicki Wellington, the title had budgeted 60 ad pages for its November issue, but ended up logging more than 100.
All this is enough to make one of the forces behind it, Hearst Magazines exec VP-Chief Marketing Officer Michael Clinton, break out the semi-excusable food puns. About the magazine's design, he says, "You can kind of snack your way through it." About advertiser response, he added, "They were hungry for something that was this exciting."

GQ (originally Gentlemen's Quarterly) is a monthly men's magazine focusing upon fashion, style, and culture for men, through articles on food, movies, fitness, sex, music, travel, sports, technology, and books. Gentlemen's Quarterly was launched in 1931 in the United States as Apparel Arts, a men's fashion magazine for the clothing trade, aimed primarily at wholesale buyers and retail sellers. Initially it had a very limited print run and was aimed solely at industry insiders to enable them to give advice to their customers. The popularity of the magazine amongst retail customers, who often took the magazine from the retailers, spurred the creation of Esquire magazine in 1933.
Apparel Arts continued until 1957 when it was transformed into a quarterly magazine for men which was published for many years by Esquire Inc. Apparel was dropped from the logo in 1958 with the spring issue after nine issues, and the name Gentlemen's Quarterly was established.
In 1979 Conde Nast Publications bought the publication and editor Art Cooper changed the course of the magazine, introducing articles beyond fashion and establishing GQ as a general men's magazine in competition with Esquire. Subsequently, international editions were launched as regional adaptations of the U.S. editorial formula. Jim Nelson was named editor-in-chief of GQ
in February 2003;.

Inc. is a monthly magazine based in New York City written for the people who run growing companies. The magazine publishes an annual list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S., the "Inc. 500."
The magazine reports its paid circulation as 690,000 as of February 2007, with monthly newsstand sales topping 20,000.
Inc. was founded in Boston by Bernie Goldhirsh and its first issue appeared in April 1979. Goldhirsh was an MIT-trained engineer who worked at Polaroid and on ballistic missiles before becoming an entrepreneur and founding Sail magazine, which he sold for $10 million, using the profits to found Inc. Goldhirsh kept a low profile, and longtime editor George Gendron was the "public face" of the magazine for two decades. Though long considered the younger upstart compared to most business publications, Inc. suffered following the dot-com era as titles like Fast Company seemed to grab more attention, but the tech crash and subsequent retrenchment saw the magazine stabilize its circulation and image. In 2000, widowed and battling cancer, Goldhirsh sold the magazine to Gruner + Jahr for a price reported over $200 million. Goldhirsh's devotion to the principles of entrepreneurism led him to create the Goldhirsh Foundation and a unique trust run by his children. The magazine was purchased in 2005 by Morningstar founder, Joe Mansueto, and Inc. and its sister magazine Fast Company constitute the publishing arm of Mansueto Ventures.

Marie Claire offers solutions for the woman whose time constraints demand one resource to respond to diverse aspects of her life. From global and cultural issues to fashion and beauty coverage, Marie Claire is for the woman of substance with an eye for style. Jean Prouvost created the first issue in 1937, which was distributed each Wednesday. French readers flocked to newsstands to buy this early weekly edition, which was a huge success. However, in 1942, German occupation authorities in France stopped the distribution of most magazines, and Marie Claire was one of them. The magazine was not redistributed until 1954. At this time, it became a monthly publication versus a weekly one. In 1976, Prouvost retired and his daughter Évelyne took over the magazine and added L'Oréal Group to the company.
Marie Claire US edition was started by the Hearst Corporation, based in New York City, in 1994. Hearst has branch offices in France, Italy, and several locations in the United States such as Detroit, the West Coast, New England, the Midwest, the Southwest, and the Southeast.

Maximum PC, formerly known as boot, is an American magazine published by Future US, and focuses on modern day PC hardware. Most content in the magazine is projected to a less business-oriented audience than many other magazines. The magazine is focused more so on home-related computing, and the relation of modern hardware toward modern software and gaming but has recently shifted focus to include consumer electronics such as digital cameras and cell phones.
Maximum PC's fanboy attitude, use of humor, sometimes vulgar language, and suggestive images (two of the issues featured a female nurse fixing a computer on the cover) gave it a distinct populist feeling, and also resulted in some controversy. In particular, the 'nurse cover' of February 2002, as well as August 2005 generated a large amount of reader feedback and letters.
Prior to September 1998, the magazine was called boot. boot and sister magazine MacAddict (now Mac|Life) launched in September 1996 when Future US shut down CD-ROM Today. The site also has a podcast, titled the NO BS Podcast that covers technology news and what is happening in the world of Maximum PC.
